Seeing friends and family you haven’t seen for a while - maybe even an ex partner -, work colleagues and clients you want to impress, the desire for great photos for your work, a long awaited trip abroad with your spouse for romance and adventure. All of these important needs have a commonality, how we show up. A desire to look our best. These are peak moments in life. Events surround us with our important people, travel we embark on life fulfilling adventure, photography captures a moment in time. These are times when we most want to put our best foot forward, so we can fully show up as our brightest and best self. To shine.
Through my makeup work I’ve had a front row seat to the energy, and frankly, often stress, that swirls around important events. Watching others excitement, their nerves, their frustrations. I’ve accommodated tight schedules for my clients as they’ve raced from the hair stylists over to me for makeup, with the nail appointments awkwardly shoe horned into an already busy week. The brow shaping and waxing appointment that somehow never quite end up happening despite the best of intentions.
And don’t even get me started on the stress I hear over and over again around clothes. What dress to wear to that big family wedding!? What clothes look best in photos? What edgy cocktail dress to wear to that fancy fashion or art event you’ve been wanting to check out but never felt like you know how to dress for? And can we all have a moment of sympathy for every mother of the bride or groom out there that has had to navigate those particularly dicey fashion waters!
I’ve listened carefully as I hear the stories, hearing the stress, hearing the desires, and accommodating the tight timelines. I’ve always known makeup is important, but I’ve also always understood it’s just one part of a bigger picture. Makeup is one step among many that has to come together for that perfect event look, those great photos, that exciting holiday adventure. As the common sentiment goes, it takes a village.
The wheels have been in motion for a long time, thinking through how to not only make the entire “getting ready” process WAY smoother and more efficient for my clients, but dare I say it … could “getting ready” even be part of the fun? Is that even possible?
When I was younger, and oftentimes still to this day, I feel like the “getting ready’ part is sometimes the best part of the whole thing. Planning out the outfits, thinking through the hair, doing the makeup, the beauty appointments leading up to special events, the skin treatments, the manicures, the pedicures. It’s part of self care, it’s part of slowing down and enjoying the journey and not just being hyper focused on the end result. And what I’ve always especially loved is getting ready around other people, the community, the support, the friendship, the fun!
When I was in high school and into my 20’s my girlfriends and I would often gather at someone’s place to get ready for a night out on the town. We would swap clothes, play loud music, have cocktails, help each other with important hair and makeup decisions. We’d often end up being late getting to wherever we were supposed to be because we were having way too much fun and didn’t want the party to stop. Now as an adult it’s often only when I go away for a girls weekend trip and we’re all sharing a hotel room that I get to experience the fun of this. And I miss it. I think it’s always been part of what I’ve loved about the wedding work I do, it drops me into that world of beauty prep as the women gather to all get ready together for the special day ahead. There’s been deep planning and preparation for the beautiful looks that come together, the hair, the nails, the makeup and of course, the dresses.
I believe this fun energy and seamless experience is sorely lacking for so many women out there. You are busy, you’re working hard, you’re already making most of these things happen but it’s not as efficient or nearly as fun and supportive as it ought to be. Not sure what steps you could be taking to really show up looking your best, who to trust for guidance, and simply the logistics and headache of trying coordinate all the various people and appointments. It can be a lot.
I’m here to help change this beauty prep scenario. The past 12 or so months have been dedicated to growing and expanding the vision and purpose of the work I do best. The makeup piece is holding steady, I love doing and teaching makeup, trust me that’s not going anywhere, but there’s been an expansion to better serve you. The studio space itself has had a major facelift and has tripled its floorspace. And the new beauty staff employees have grown four fold, along with an extended network of my top picks of complementary beauty and fashion experts.

Understanding when it’s okay to do that facial peel or get that spray tan and when is not the right time! The team working together to build a cohesive look for you - the nails working with the outfits, working with the hair, working with the makeup. And a ‘project management’ like approach to sorting out the timeline of the various steps with me as your lead project manager overseeing the whole process. Instead of you trying to hold all these various details in your mind and scrambling to pull all the various appointments together, we’ll do the working and worrying so you can do the relaxing and enjoying.
A brand new team of in-house beauty experts have been brought on board to serve your needs. We have two nail masters ready and waiting to carefully and expertly shape and polish your hands and feet to sophisticated smooth, long lasting perfection. An event hair stylist who can give you soft bouncy curls or pinned up formal styles. A European award winning brow master to shape, tint and lift brows or lashes. A small team of makeup artists to help keep the luxury of professionally done makeup as accessible as possible and a European medically trained skincare specialist with over 10 years global experience to help whip our skin into the smoothest, firmest, most glowiest it’s ever been.
- Nail, brow and facial waxing services are available now and bookings have already started with our inaugural clients (welcome and thank you!) joining us the first week of September.
- Makeup is up and running full time as usual with applications and 1:1 and small group lessons. A group makeup course running the month of October, we currently have space for two more to join that group
- Hair event styling will be available by the end of September.
- Facialist bookings, first available appointments are starting October 7th.
- In house photography (headshots and fashion shoots) are also on offer having started up this second week of September.
